Tip

Make sure that your investments can be liquidated quickly because you may need to take out your money quickly for the down payment!

Be wary of investing in illiquid or locked in investments.  For example, if you intend to buy a house within a year, don't buy a 1 year non-cashable GIC because you may not be able to get your money out of the investment!
